# Podium Alternatives for Home Services in 2026

What Podium does, what to compare, and seven alternatives for trades, including who each one suits and what we could confirm on price.

Podium is a big name in customer messaging, and plenty of home service businesses look at it. It’s also quote-only: its pricing page tells you to talk to sales. If you want to compare before that call, this list is for you.

We’re on this list, so we’re not neutral. We’ve tried to be fair anyway. Prices were checked on November 5, 2026, and they change, so confirm before you buy.

## Know what problem you’re solving

Podium covers messaging, reviews and payments, with an AI employee it sells as an add-on. You may not need all of that. Pick your main problem first:

- **“I miss calls.”** Look at AI phone agents and answering services.
- **“I need more reviews.”** Look at review tools.
- **“My whole office is a mess.”** Look at field service software.

## The alternatives

| Tool | Best for | Price we could confirm |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------ |
| Ring First | Trades that want the phone handled for them | From $800 setup, then $150/mo |
| Jobber Receptionist | Shops already running on Jobber | Not listed on the product page |
| Housecall Pro CSR AI | Shops already running on Housecall Pro | Add-on price not published |
| Goodcall | Owners happy to set it up themselves | $79 to $299/mo |
| Rosie | A low starting price | $49 to $299/mo |
| Smith.ai | AI with human receptionist options | Free, then $150 to $500/mo |
| NiceJob | Reviews rather than phones | Reported from $75/mo |

### Ring First

We set up, test and run an AI phone agent for trades. It answers when you can’t, and Flagship and up add 60-second lead follow-up and calendar booking. It’s done for you, so there’s a setup fee and a 3-month minimum. We’re also new. If you want a long track record or a bigger platform, we’re not that yet. See [our pricing](https://ring-first.com/pricing/).

### Jobber Receptionist

Jobber says its receptionist answers calls and texts 24/7, books visits, takes requests and escalates urgent calls. If you already run your jobs in Jobber, check this first, because it uses your existing booking settings.

### Housecall Pro CSR AI

This is an add-on for Housecall Pro customers, and the price isn’t published. Calls are forwarded to a separate CSR AI number. It makes the most sense if you’re already on Housecall Pro.

### Goodcall

Goodcall bills by unique customers rather than minutes: $79 a month for 100, $129 for 500 and $299 for 2,000. One number counts once a month, however often it calls. That’s easy to predict if you get lots of repeat callers.

### Rosie

Rosie has the lowest starting price here at $49 a month for 250 minutes. Check the plan before you buy, though. The $49 plan sends appointment links by text, while booking directly on your calendar starts at $149.

### Smith.ai

Smith.ai bills per call rather than per minute, with a free plan for 25 calls and paid plans from $150 a month. Its AI plans are month to month with 30 days’ notice. It also offers plans with human receptionists, which can suit you if your callers need a real person.

### NiceJob

NiceJob is a review tool, not a phone answering tool, so it only replaces part of Podium. Third-party listings put it from $75 a month, but we couldn’t confirm that on its own site.

## How to choose

Ask three things:

1. **Do I want to run this myself, or have it done for me?** Self-serve costs less. Done-for-you costs more and takes less of your time.
2. **Does it book the job, or just take a message?** The answer can change between plans of the same product.
3. **What do I pay when I get busy?** Compare the included amount and the overage, not just the headline price.
